What do the scores show?
The scores indicate whether parties and their MEPs agree with ORG policy, where 100% indicates full agreement. MEPs score 25% for agreeing with ORG on each of the four questions, with 0% indicating either 'no response' or 'disagreement'. The party score indicates the cumulative views of its representative candidates.
My MEPs haven't replied. Can I help out?
You can help this project by contacting MEPs and asking them to respond to the email and letter they will have received. Please note MEPs are extremely busy, so its vital to be polite and not intrusive. We can't emphasise this enough, please don't harass them! If you do manage to get a reply, please email it to euelection at openrightsgroup dot org for us to publish. Also, whilst these are vital issues for the digital rights community, they are relatively novel to many politicians and will require a fair amount of thought.
I am a MEP. How do i reply?
Please indicate whether you agree / disagree with our 4 statements on copyright, privacy, surveillance and the open internet, by sending an email to euelection at openrightsgroup dot org.
What are digital rights?
The Open Rights Group is a grassroots campaigning organisation which exists to protect civil liberties wherever they are threatened by the poor implementation and regulation of digital technology. We call these rights our "digital rights".
